'Iron Man 3' Filming Rolls to a Start in North Carolina

It's official: "Iron Man 3" has started filming, with its first stop at North Carolina.

The announcement comes a few days after photos of Marvel's Eric Savin, played by actor James Badge Dale, who recently starred in "The Grey" with Liam Neeson, leaked online. Savin's armor sports an Iron Man suit fused with Captain America's colors.

Marvel two months ago announced that filming the franchise would be co-produced in China by DMG Entertainment, a company that has helped bring movies such as "Resident Evil: Afterlife" and "Priest" to theaters.

But as expected, Robert Downey Jr. will continue to work with Gwyneth Paltrow whose Pepper Potts character starred in "The Avengers," which domestically grossed $207 million on opening weekend last month.

Aside from North Carolina and China, filming will also make its reach to the warm waters of Miami.
