Zeb Wells Joins the 'Robot Chicken' DC Comics Special Lineup

Zeb Wells, a Marvel Comics writer whose work includes numerous "Spider-Man" titles, is slated to lend his voice to a 22-minute DC Comics special of "Robot Chicken."

Although the "Robot Chicken" writer in past episodes voiced characters like Riddler and the Crypt Keeper, it's not clear what character he will play in the upcoming episode, expected to air in the fall.

Adult Swim, the cable network that now syndicates shows like American Dad, Family Guy and King of the Hill, announced on Wednesday that more talents have been added to the DC Comics special, including the actress who plays Lois Griffin on "Family Guy," Alex Borstein.

Other voice actors include Abe Benrubi, Clare Grant, Tara Strong, Matt Senreich and Tom Root, according to a news release. Kevin Shinick, the creator of animated sketch comedy "Mad," will be the narrator.

The cast:

  • Seth Green -- Batman, Robin and Aquaman
  • Paul Reubens -- Riddler
  • Neil Patrick Harris -- Two-Face
  • Alfred Molina -- Lex Luthor
  • Nathan Fillion -- Green Lantern
  • Megan Fox -- Lois Lane
  • Breckin Meyer -- Superman

Although the characters slated to be in the series have previously appeared on the stop-motion show, this is the first time they will be voiced by a cast fit for a feature film, including actor Alfred Molina, who already picked up experience playing a comic book villain in "Spiderman-2" as Doc Ock.

Wells is the writer of comics like "Carnage" and "Avenging Spider-Man," which has been released every month since January.
