'The Avengers' Reaches $1 Billion Mark Worldwide
Ever since 'The Avengers' hit theaters across the globe, the feature film grossed $1 billion and is expected to earn the No. 4 spot behind "Avatar," "Titanic" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2" by next week, according to movie revenue website Box Office Mojo.
Although the numbers speak for themselves, Stan Lee, the co-creator of Marvel whose creations have hit the silver screen over the last 10 years, told CNN that he doesn't care much about the profits.
"I am really very pleased that people enjoy the movie, that it's doing well, and even though I didn't film the movie myself, I seem to be getting a lot of credit for it!" he said.
"The Avengers" joins the top five Disney movies -- "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest," Toy Story 3," "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" and Alice in Wonderland -- to hit the billion-dollar mark.
