Stan Lee to Host 'The Avengers' Screening at Catalina Film Festival
Stan Lee, the man whose comic book creations eventually earned him a top spot in the film industry, will show up at the Catalina Film Festival during the opening weekend of "The Avengers."
Festival representatives announced Thursday that Lee will receive the Ronald Reagan Foundation's Great Communicator Award, which is handed down to film makers who show "a philosophy of individual opportunity, optimism and pride."
He will also host the screening of "The Avengers" at the three-day festival, a statement said.
Recently, Charitybuzz.com auctioned off a chance to dine with the former president of Marvel Comics at the festival. But don't bother bidding since the auction closed down, with tickets topping off at $2,000.
